The Loom Room

Welcome to the Loom Room

A playroom for thread lovers, where you can play with needles, a hook, a machine, a wheel or a loom.

Do you love to design and create?

                    Do you enjoy manipulating threads?

Are you curious about the magic of threads?

The LOOM ROOM is a space to learn and to share your threading skills, whether in silk, cotton, wool, fabric, string, grass or rags.

Special Guest - Ilka White - Braided Rag Rugs

Recently Ilka White (Website) a visual artist and weaver extraordinaire  taught us how to create a Braided Rag Rug.

In the next few weeks, Ilka will teach us how to manage a loom and how to get stuff done on it.

  • Using her hand as a large crochet hook Ilka loops up the warp so it can be stored without it becoming tangled. To prove the point she threw it at someone! Good catch!
